Build CEO trust by starting small and delivering big
Office of the CEO professionals - if you want to gain CEO trust fast, do this:
Say what you’re going to do and then do it ahead of your self-imposed deadline.
Set a high bar for quality and then exceed your CEO’s expectations.
Raise difficult issues that need to be dealt with head on with proposed solutions.
That said, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. The easiest way to build trust in a new role in the Office of the CEO is to start small.
Identify the smallest and most annoying things on your CEO’s task list and solve them 1 by 1.
Report back what you did and see how your CEO’s mood changes for the better.
Then and only then, seek permission to do bigger and better tasks.
Remember, the more trust you win, the bigger projects you can handle.
